1. Be Genuine
Jigu Bites is built around real experiences. When sharing a review, rating, recommendation, or other content:
- Be honest.
- Share your genuine experience.
- Do not intentionally mislead others.
- Do not pretend to be someone else.
- Do not create fake experiences.
- Do not manipulate ratings or popularity.
A negative experience is allowed. A positive experience is allowed. A controversial opinion is allowed. What matters is that your contribution is genuine and follows these Guidelines.
2. Treat People With Respect
You may disagree with someone without attacking them. Do not:
- Harass, threaten, or intimidate people.
- Bully people or repeatedly target another user.
- Encourage others to attack someone.
- Engage in abusive behavior.
- Make unwanted sexual advances.
- Use degrading or humiliating language to target individuals.
Criticize the food, service, experience, or business where appropriate. Do not turn a disagreement into personal abuse.
3. Hate and Discrimination
Jigu Bites does not allow content that promotes hatred or discrimination against people based on characteristics such as race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, sex, gender, sexual orientation, or other protected characteristics recognized under applicable law. This includes serious slurs, dehumanizing content, threats, or encouragement of violence against protected groups.
Good-faith discussion of social, cultural, religious, political, or other topics is not automatically prohibited. Context matters.
4. Threats and Violence
Do not use Jigu Bites to threaten violence, encourage violence, celebrate serious acts of violence, organize violent attacks, or intimidate people with threats of physical harm.
If you believe someone is in immediate danger, contact the appropriate emergency authorities rather than relying solely on a report to Jigu Bites.
5. Protect People's Privacy
Do not publish another person's private information without appropriate authorization. This may include private phone numbers, home addresses, private email addresses, passwords, financial information, private identification documents, private conversations, sensitive personal information, and other information that a person reasonably expects to remain private.
Do not use Jigu Bites to expose someone ("doxxing") or encourage others to invade their privacy.
6. Don't Impersonate Others
Do not pretend to be another user, a restaurant employee, a restaurant owner, a public figure, a Jigu Bites employee, a government representative, or another organization. Parody or clearly fictional accounts may be treated differently where they cannot reasonably mislead users.
7. Keep Reviews Honest
Reviews should represent your genuine experience. Do not:
- Buy or sell reviews.
- Create fake reviews or coordinate fake rating campaigns.
- Review businesses solely to manipulate their reputation.
- Create multiple accounts to influence ratings.
- Threaten a restaurant with a negative review.
- Promise a positive review in exchange for something.
- Post a review on behalf of someone else without authorization.
Restaurants may respond to reviews, but they must not attempt to manipulate or intimidate reviewers.
8. Incentivized Reviews
Restaurants may offer discounts, complimentary food, or other benefits in connection with reviews where permitted. However, incentives must not require a positive review.
If you receive an incentive connected to a review, disclose it when required by Jigu Bites or applicable law.
9. Criticize Businesses Fairly
Jigu Bites allows criticism. You may discuss food quality, service, price, cleanliness, atmosphere, waiting time, staff experience, value, accessibility, and other aspects of your experience. However, criticism should not become threats, harassment, personal attacks, fabricated accusations, publication of private information, or extortion.
10. Restaurant Accounts Must Act Responsibly
Restaurants and their representatives are members of the Jigu Bites community too. Restaurants should:
- Provide accurate information.
- Respond professionally.
- Correct mistakes where appropriate.
- Respect customers.
- Avoid manipulating reviews or threatening reviewers.
- Avoid publishing private customer information.
- Clearly identify promotional activity where required.
A negative review does not automatically mean that the reviewer has violated our Guidelines.
11. No Retaliation Against Reviewers
Restaurants must not retaliate against customers because they posted a negative review. Prohibited retaliation may include threatening a reviewer, publishing private information, encouraging harassment, creating fake accounts to attack the reviewer, attempting to intimidate the reviewer, offering benefits in exchange for deleting criticism, or coordinating attacks against the reviewer. Restaurants are encouraged to respond professionally and address legitimate concerns.
12. Keep Posts Relevant
Posts should contribute something useful, interesting, entertaining, or meaningful to the Jigu Bites community. Do not repeatedly post spam, unrelated advertising, repetitive promotional content, malicious links, or automated content designed to manipulate engagement. Restaurants may promote their businesses through designated business features and promotional tools.
13. Spam and Manipulated Engagement
Do not attempt to artificially increase followers, likes, reviews, ratings, comments, views, restaurant rankings, or recommendations using bots, fake accounts, automated interactions, purchased engagement, coordinated manipulation, or other deceptive methods. Jigu Bites may remove artificially generated engagement.
14. No Scams or Fraud
Do not use Jigu Bites to defraud people, run fake promotions, collect passwords, steal financial information, send phishing links, impersonate legitimate businesses, sell nonexistent products or services, trick users into transferring money, or conduct other fraudulent activity. Be particularly careful when communicating with people you do not know.
15. Links and External Services
Do not share malicious or deceptive links. Links must not be used to install malware, steal credentials, conduct phishing, distribute harmful software, redirect users deceptively, or conduct fraudulent activity. Jigu Bites may restrict links or content that create security risks.
16. Sexual and Explicit Content
Jigu Bites is primarily a food, restaurant, discovery, and social platform. Do not use the platform to distribute sexually explicit or pornographic content. Sexual harassment, unwanted sexual content, or sexual exploitation is prohibited. Content involving the sexual exploitation of minors is strictly prohibited and may be reported to appropriate authorities where required.
17. Child Safety
Jigu Bites has a minimum age requirement of 13. Users must not use Jigu Bites to exploit, abuse, groom, or sexually target minors. Do not attempt to solicit inappropriate personal information from minors. We may take immediate action against accounts involved in child-safety violations.
18. Dangerous or Illegal Activities
Do not use Jigu Bites to organize, promote, or facilitate illegal activities, including content intended to facilitate serious criminal activity, fraud, violence, exploitation, dangerous wrongdoing, or other unlawful conduct. Legitimate discussion, news, education, or commentary about such topics may be allowed depending on context.
19. Respect Intellectual Property
Only upload photographs, videos, logos, artwork, menus, or other content that you have the right to use. Do not knowingly upload stolen photographs, copyrighted material without authorization, private photographs without permission, someone else's work presented as your own, or trademark-infringing material.
If you believe your intellectual-property rights have been violated, contact Jigu Bites at: jigubites@gmail.com.
20. Photos and Videos
Photos and videos should follow these Guidelines. Do not upload content that harasses people, reveals private information, contains illegal material, is intentionally misleading, infringes someone's rights, contains malicious material, or is primarily intended to shock, abuse, or harass. When photographing people, be mindful of their privacy and applicable laws. Video functionality may be introduced as Jigu Bites expands.
21. Personal Information in Photos
Before uploading photographs, check that they do not unintentionally expose phone numbers, addresses, identification documents, payment information, passwords, private conversations, or other sensitive information. You are responsible for considering whether you have appropriate permission to publish identifiable people.
22. Messaging
Private messaging is intended for genuine communication. Do not use messages to harass, spam, or threaten people, send malicious links, send unwanted explicit material, repeatedly contact someone after being asked to stop, or collect sensitive information fraudulently. You can block users where blocking functionality is available.
23. Blocking
If another user is making you uncomfortable, you may use the blocking functionality available through Jigu Bites. Blocking may limit interactions between the accounts. Blocking does not necessarily prevent Jigu Bites from retaining information or taking action where required for security, moderation, legal compliance, or investigation.
24. Reporting
If you see something that violates these Guidelines, report it through available reporting tools or contact jigubites@gmail.com. When reporting something, provide enough information for us to understand the issue. Reports may concern users, reviews, posts, photos, comments, messages, restaurants, business claims, and other content or behavior. Please do not abuse reporting systems.
25. What Happens After a Report?
Jigu Bites may review reported content or behavior. Depending on the circumstances, we may take no action, remove content, restrict visibility, add warnings, restrict an account, temporarily suspend an account, permanently terminate an account, remove business verification, restrict business permissions, or restrict messaging and other platform functionality. We consider factors such as severity, context, previous behavior, potential harm, evidence available, whether the behavior is repeated, and applicable law. We cannot guarantee that every report will result in a particular action.
26. We May Investigate
To protect the community, Jigu Bites may investigate reports and suspicious activity. This may involve reviewing relevant public content, account information, platform activity, reports, technical information, and communications relevant to an investigation. Private messages may be accessed where reasonably necessary for investigating reports, security incidents, abuse, legal requirements, or protecting users and the Services. Jigu Bites aims to respect user privacy while maintaining a safe platform. Our handling of personal information is described in the Privacy Policy.
27. False Reports
Reporting is an important safety feature. However, intentionally submitting false reports to harass someone, silence legitimate criticism, damage a restaurant, remove a competitor, abuse moderation, or manipulate platform decisions may itself violate these Guidelines.
28. Enforcement
If you violate these Guidelines, Jigu Bites may take action. The action may depend on the seriousness of the violation.
Jigu Bites may take preventative action where reasonably necessary to protect the community.
29. No Guaranteed Outcome From Reports
Jigu Bites cannot guarantee that reported content will be removed, that a reported account will be suspended, that a restaurant will lose its verification, that a review will be removed, or that a dispute will be resolved in your favor. Moderation decisions may depend on the evidence and circumstances available to us.
30. Appeals
Where an appeal mechanism is available, users and businesses may request review of certain enforcement decisions. Appeals should provide relevant information explaining why you believe the decision should be reconsidered. Jigu Bites may establish more detailed appeal procedures as the platform develops.
31. Community First
Jigu Bites exists to help people discover places, share experiences, support restaurants, and connect over food. A good community does not require everyone to agree. It requires people to:
- Be genuine.
- Be respectful.
- Give honest opinions.
- Respect privacy.
- Accept reasonable disagreement.
- Avoid manipulation.
- Help keep the platform useful.
32. Changes to These Guidelines
Jigu Bites may update these Community Guidelines as the platform develops because of new features, new types of content, changes in community behavior, safety concerns, legal requirements, new technologies, or international expansion. The "Last Updated" date will indicate when the Guidelines were most recently revised.
